Consecration of the 8th Bishop of Upper South Carolina
The consecration of the eighth bishop of Upper South Carolina will take place on May 22, 2010, at Christ Church, Greenville, and not, as earlier announced, at Trinity Cathedral, Columbia. The cathedral has been undergoing extensive renovation and restoration, a project that, despite initial hopeful projections, cannot not be completed in time, according to Mary Belser, Trinity senior warden and chair of the cathedral's Bicentennial Restoration Campaign. The decision to move to Christ Church was made by the Standing Committee of the diocese, in consultation with Ms. Belser, the bishop-elect, and members of the Transition Committee, which is charged with oversight of the consecration.

Lenten Study 2010
Come for some. Come for all. The idea is that we will
all be here together as the body of Christ worshiping,
reflecting, studying, and singing and sharing a meal.
You are invited to a Holy Lent at St. Michael and All Angels'.
February 24, 2010- March 24, 2010
5:30pm-6:30pm - Supper
5:30pm - Holy Eucharist/Healing Service
6:30pm-7:30pm - Lenten Study for all ages Jonah the Reluctant Prophet is our topic for Lenten Reflection this year.
Each Wednesday evening beginning February 24 and continuing through March 24 we will explore the facets of this fascinating book. Activities for adults and children will follow the same theme.
Most of us think we know the story of Jonah. It is a popular and familiar tale.
However, the truth is that we have not given it the serious reflection and critical study it deserves.
Too often we think of Jonah as a less important prophet if we think of him as a prophet at all. To many of us he comes across as a comic character dismissed as foolish. We will take a closer look and discover otherwise.
Please join us on Wednesdays, February 24 - MARCH 24 from 6:30 -7:30
and meet Jonah and learn how his story teaches us some very important lessons.
Children will meet in the St. Clare Room. Adults in Sturtevant Hall.
